Clean comfortable great value for money. Value, location, everything works, secured from plaza del Sol, eateries galore, bars and tapas galore, shopping around. Prices are good. Professional friendly staff also very helpful. Very quiet which is surprising as its at the Plaza Del Sol. Banks, exchanges. Great for budget travellers. All types of rooms, attached and common share bathrooms. Terrace rooms too. Recommend for budget.
REALLY NICE in about everything. A nice view from the room, one unexpected balcony, best wifi signal/speed everywhere, breakfast simple but very well served. Staff 24h helpful and receptive. The only downside is that you'll have to pay extra for a private bathroom, since this is inside a Hostel. In my stay that wasn't a problem since the bathroom was shared with only another room and nobody was booked there for half my stay.
Enjoyed my stay here. Clean rooms, friendly staff, excellent location. Convenient to walk to Plaza Mayor, the Chueca District, or the Reina Sofia.
really a great deal! Nice place, rooms are clean and staff is super nice. Our room had also an amazing terrace on plaza del sol, great place to relax in the exact centre of the city! Breakfast is ok for the price range of the hotel. A place to come back for sure!
Perfect location! We had a room towards Plaza, and we slept without any disturbance. Walking distance to everywhere, very clean and nice place to stay. Breakfast is very simple but there is plenty of choices around here. Highly recommend this hostal!
If I was writing a review based on location alone, Hotel Puerta del Sol would get 5 stars. But a number of other features also make this a great hotel... First and foremost, the hotel staff are exceptionally helpful. Having just arrived in Madrid early one morning, completely exhausted, I had seven hours to kill before my 2pm check-in. After only 30 minutes of waiting in the hotel's cafe, Marina at the front desk came downstairs to inform me that a room was available. Music to my ears!! My room was clean and comfortable. This is a new hotel and it still sparkles with cleanliness! The cafe downstairs with free coffee, water and fresh fruit is great! I'd like to single out Marina and Carlos at the front desk for being tremendous ambassadors for this hotel. I will definitely be back!!
